Say NO to soda pop

I have been trying really hard to do no soda pop, specifically Diet Coke.  I went cold turkey for about 3 months and did great and no longer have the need to grab when everytime I get in the car.  I still have one once in a while, when we are out to dinner on a special occasion.  But, reading this article made me shiver, I don't let the kids have moutain dew but it's made me think about what I do let them have.  What are your thoughts?

I've been reading her blog for a few years now....since before she had to change her entire life and the fact is, We may know that things are bad for us, but if we allow exceptions, then we really have a hard time holding to our standards. (Kind of like with modestly and swearing too!)

I would love to say my family is healthy and that I only allow things that are good for them in our home, but the fact is, I avoid soda for this reason (and others) but I'm not a 100% perfect person.

It's easy to forget how bad things can be for us since there is rarely an instantaneous reaction. So I'm grateful that my kids are blessed with a strong immune system and I hope I am doing some things right, even if we do indulge in soda occasionally.

Matt however, almost always, almost only drinks soda. sigh. It's a losing battle and I've given up.
