Anniversary Gift

On March 23 Nate and I will celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. He won't be home on leave til 2 weeks later, but I really want to come up with the perfect gift for him, so any ideas? I want to know what your favorite, coolest, personalized gifts for your hubby have been?

I think the gift he most appreciated was a 1 hour Massage from a nice spa type of place (not one of those questionable places). OH! I put a really small photo album together with pics of the kids-he really liked that (and still does). It wasn't a scrapbook type of thing, it was a "just insert a photo" type of thing. Our 18 year Anniversary is coming up, and because we are people who, "hey I want this, I think I will get it"-by the time an occasion comes along we have nothing to get eachother and we just go out to dinner.

The perfect gift (for BOTH of you) would be time. You have had so much time apart that you deserve time together.

I'd suggest planning a 2 day/one night away....nice hotel, nice resturaunt, fun something for the two of you to do....outside of the hotel.

I agree with Dana's comment. You two need a night away, alone together. That is the most personalized gift you could give him. Hey, maybe you could throw in a sexy little something for you to wear too. ;)

One other idea is getting him a picture or something from one of your first dates. Like buy the DVD of the first movie you saw together.

For example, I gave Andrew a picture of the Edmonds Ferry for one of our anniversaries, with an engraved plaque that said "once upon a ferry, we fell in love". Our first date was a ferry ride. Anyway, it was a huge hit.

Just throwing another idea out there.

If you have money get a room that has a tv right next to the jacuzzi bathtub and a basket filled with his favorite treats and stay up all night watching tv and movies in the tub.

No money, write down your favorite memory from each year that you've been married, get an overnight babysitter for your kids (out of the house) and have a chinese take out picinic on your living room floor.

These were two of Jon and I's very favorite anniversaries.
