TOO FUNNY!

I stole this off of someone else's blog I don't know. It gave me a good laugh, which I really needed after a sunday with my kids.

R. D. Jones And His Sewing Machine
The following is an ad from a real-life newspaper which appeared four days in a row - the last three hopelessly trying to correct the first day's mistake.
MONDAY:
For sale: R. D. Jones has one sewing machine for sale. Phone 948-0707 after 7 P.M.. and ask for Mrs. Kelly who lives with him cheap.
TUESDAY:
Notice: We regret having erred In R. D. Jones' ad yesterday. It should have read "One sewing machine for sale cheap. Phone 948-0707 and ask for Mrs. Kelly, who lives with him after 7 P.M."
WEDNESDAY:
Notice: R. D. Jones has informed us that he has received several annoying telephone calls because of the error we made in the classified ad yesterday. The ad stands correct as follows: "For sale -- R. D. Jones has one sewing machine for sale. Cheap. Phone 948-0707 after 7 P.M. and ask for Mrs. Kelly who loves with him."
THURSDAY:Notice: I, R. D. Jones, have no sewing machine for sale. I intentionally broke it. Don't call 948-0707 as I have had the phone disconnected. I have not been carrying on with Mrs. Kelly. Until yesterday she was my housekeeper, but she has now quit.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATE!

Happy Birthday to my smoking hot soldier and his little brother. Nate turns 38 today (wow that sounds old) and Joel turns 36. We miss our daddy so much, Alison said "when is dad coming home? maybe on my b-day?" What she doesn't get is that no, he isn't coming home on her b-day. Here is a pic Nate sent of himself (And I have been complaining of TX having no trees and no green). Can you imagine 115 degrees and having to wear those uniforms? Your b-day cake is in the mail, hope you enjoy it. Have you heard of this? You can bake a cake in a canning jar, when it is done, put a boiled lid on it and wait for the "pop". The cake will be kept fresh until you open it. Do not frost it first, include a container of frosting in the care pkg. I will let you know what he says after he opens it.
In a side note, sandstorms are deadly, at least to his camera. His camera is full of sand and makes a horrible sound when you try to open it or use it. I guess he was trying to take a pictures of the flowers, I mean the sandstorm...hmmmm.....
And he has a new address...so if anyone is interested in it, just let me know. I can't remember who all I gave the old one to but it won't work.

DEJA VU

I'm not sure if I can be Dorshan's friend any longer. I'm not sure Nadine is willing to be my friend know (she doesn't want to be next). There is a nasty bug going around town. Click on Dorshan's name to read more.

Thank goodness for 24 hr roadside assistance. We had just dropped Sam off at Cub Scout Day Camp and had played on the playground. We went back to the car to find it totally flat. Good thing it was 10am, and not 4pm when it was like 100 degrees out.

I do like Dorshan enough to let her come over and make a Blue Star Service Banner with me. She did awesome considering she said she has only touched a sewing machine once, I think I have her hooked. Her kids were pretty cute teasing her, I think she did a great job. I love the history of the Blue Star Service Banner, so check it out. I had never heard of it before. The binding on mine isn't finished yet, but I wanted to show you how it looks.

It is really nice to have other people who have had/ have spouses deployed. Misery loves company right? ha ha

I fixed it

I fixed the problem of not being able to enlarge the pictures. But, I am not going back and fixing all of them, just the last two posts. Enjoy!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAM!

My baby Sam turns 10 tomorrow. We had his birthday party a week ago because this week is Cub Scout Day Camp and his friends Ethan & Joshua are out of town. I took the boys bowling & they had a blast. Happy Birthday Sam, I love you!!

Check out BAKERELLA'S blog to see how to make those great cake pops!

BLAST FROM THE PAST!

Here is my guess on the BLAST FROM THE PAST picture.
Back row: Beth or Christa, Kristie, (I can picture her, but I can't remember her name), Jeremy, Andy, Aaron
Front row: Beth or Christa, Me, Sarah, Alayne
I hope I got that right.

Aren't we so cute? A few of you in Seattle know Lisa Nelson-that's her hubby Andy in the back row.

SUMMERTIME!

UPDATE! I decided to take these pictures off.

Wow, is it hot! It was hot last summer in oregon, but that was for July & Aug. It's been in the high 90's since May. At least we get play in the water alot.

WELCOME-A BLAST FROM THE PAST

This is in honor of Kristie, a blast from my past. We grew up together in Seattle and she has joined my blogroll recently. I thought she would get a kick out of this picture I found while cleaning out a file drawer, trying to get caught up on scrapbooks. (really I am just trying to keep busy since today is a big b-day party for my dad (70) and we are missing it and we survived our first week with Nate gone, how many to go?)
Can anyone name any of these people?
There is no date on the picture, but it has to be winter since we made gingerbread houses, and I know it is at The Nelson's house (does anyone know of any other funny things that happened at their house?)

I really do like blogging and being able to see what is going on in people's lives (you all know how noisy I am)

CRAFTING OBSESSION

I love to buy handmade items. I also love to make things. My current obsession has been hairbows. I have more ribbon than I know what to do with and have been asked by many if I sell them. So, I decided to start a blog devoted to crafty thing-BOWTASTIC. It isn't set up exactly how I would like, it is a work in progress, to keep me busy (like 4 kids isn't enough) while my hubby is deployed but I wanted to share with everybody my 4th of july bows. So, check it out and let me know what you think. I offer free shipping in the U.S. and accept paypal.

BREAD WINNER!

So, a while back I requested bread recipes. And since my friend (at least I thought you were my friend) Joe refuses to give me his bread recipes (he owns a bakery in Seattle) he doesn't win. Julie does. This was a great recipe, it was easy, throw everything in my kitchenaid and mix. And the kids loved it. I had to add extra flower because of the humidity here. Check out the comments to the previous post to see the recipe. So, even though Julie doesn't blog yet and doesn't have any girls yet, I am sending her some 4th of July bows (I know she has friends who have girls and nieces to share with). And to thank everybody (Cricket, Dorshan, Camille, An Ordinary Mom, for playing along and humoring me, and sending me recipes, everybody get's some butterfly bows.

P.S. All the recipes were great and really similiar!!
Camille, email me your new address, if you don't have my email any longer, Caroline does.

WEEK IN REVIEW

Natalie finally lost her first tooth, yah!!!
Sam & Natalie both got academic awards at school for getting all A's.
They both had great teachers.

Adelaide discovered a piece of watermelon one of the kids left on a chair, I think she likes it.

This is what happens when I kick the kids off the computer (it was only day 1 of summer vacation), they make a fort with whatever and everything they can find....they had a little help from some friends, but they are very capable of making this mess themselves.

Alison was tired of being drug all over the place for ceremony after ceremony and having to sit still.

We are really proud of our dad-We love you!!
