ipod

So, Nate is in the middle of nowhere and bored stiff, which actually is a good thing when you think about what that means, no fighting or serious injuries near him. Some of you will find this hard to believe but we don't own an ipod. So, I am going to get him one and fill it up with music so he has something to listen to. The problem is, I know nothing about them.....So please help me. Which one do I buy, nano, shuffle, classic, big, small, pink, red, ha ha just kidding. Do you have one? which one and what are the good and bad about it.

Thanks

I love my nano - 8GB. Jason took his Ipod but wants to get a smaller one. Depends on how much music he has. J's can have movies/music on his... same with mine. I don't use it for anything but music though. My cousin has the Zune and loves it. My family are all Apple fans... LOL Anyway, I got mine off Ebay. Whatever you do - make sure you get an arm band or something that will enable him to attach it to himself while he is out and about. Jason wants an armband for his Ipod for his workouts. Happy Shopping!!

i love podcasts - which are free on itunes for any kind of ipod. You can set them up to download automatically and everytime you plug in you ipod it will add them to the playlist. I like This American Life, BYU speeches, Wait, Wait..Don't tell me. There are all kinds and topics.

I have a shuffle (purple). I wanted it specifically because it is really small and I don't need video or a million songs. Plus I mainly use it at the gym so random music is all I need. But if you want to pick specific songs at a time this is not for you. Brandon has the classic which is perfect for his purpose which is listening at work and home. But when he goes to the gym he puts it in his pocket because it's too big to strap to his arm comfortably and I would find that annoying.

We love our nano but our next one will be the biggest one they sell. We use it every day, me at the gym, and Josh while cleaning the kitchen. NPR podcasts are great, and Josh likes ESPN's as well.

Hey Becky!
Guess what?? Jared just bought me my own iPod last night. I've been running with his and we have a 5K in a couple weeks and he wanted me to have one cause he's so proud of me. Isn't that sweet? I don't know anything about them either, but
like your Millhouse friends, he bought me the nano, 8GB (the biggest memory thus far, I believe). You can actually download movies in addition to music on them. Pretty snazy. I don't know what the 'shuffle' is, but you can shuffle your music on the nano and just the regular iPod that Jared has. He got it at Costco. And mine is hot pink :)
Love,
Jenn

We both have Nano's and we love them! Kev likes the nano because it gives him the option to put his music on different lists plus he can download pics of the family.

We got both of ours on ebay for a pretty decent price.

I've been looking into Ipod's myself. From what I have learned, it depends on what you want to do with it. If you want just songs, podcasts, books, etc. The more GB's the better, but the more expensive. I'm looking into the Shuffle for just music for when I work out at the gym. And, I know that the RED one-has something to do with Apple donating some of the proceeds to fighting AIDS in Africa. I saw it on Oprah a few years ago with Bono from U2.

I just bought a Sony Walkman (I have the 8g, but it comes in 4g for about $80 at Best Buy). Mine will hold movies, videos, pictures, etc (it was only $140). I like it better than ipods because you can transfer files just like in Windows and don't have to buy from an istore. My dad - who spent some time in Iraq cautions strongly that you get a case that will resist sand.
